Emergency Care - What To Expect

Unless you are being transported to the emergency room by ambulance, upon arrival your first stop will be the triage area. Here a nurse will assess your condition and provide any immediate intervention or first aid if needed. The nurse may begin the medical treatment process by ordering tests such as blood work or X-rays.

Next, you will be brought to an examination room for either major or minor treatment, depending on your condition. Your family members may stay with you here until the physician arrives. Computerized bedside registration technology facilitates the registration process.

The ED staff will give you frequent progress reports on your diagnosis and treatment, making every effort to calm your anxieties. We eliminate unnecessary patient transport and delays by bringing medical services to you, and not vice versa.
