Traffic Alert for Prostate Cancer Awareness Race
CLEARWATER, Fla., (August 19, 2010) – Approximately 1,000 runners are expected to compete in the inaugural Morton Plant Mease Foundation Prostate Cancer Awareness Race in Clearwater on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at 7:30 a.m. Morton Plant Mease Foundation is working with city officials to notify citizens of the event and of possible travel impact during the early morning race.
The following streets will be impacted from approximately 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. during the race:
- Corbett Street
- Druid Road South
- Druid Road West
- Oak Avenue
- Rogers Street
- Orange Avenue
- Willadel Drive
- Coe Road
- Flamingo Drive
- Bay Avenue
Police officers from the cities of Clearwater and Belleair will be directing traffic during the event.
Participants can sign up for the family friendly event by visiting www.active.com and searching for Morton Plant Mease, or the race application is available by logging on to www.mpmhealth.com and clicking the Prostate Cancer Awareness Race banner.
The registration fee is $25 until August 31, $30 through September 10 and $35 on the day of the race, September 11. The registration fee for the Kids Dash at 9am is $10 through September 11. Entry fees are non-refundable. Online registration closes on September 10. Registration capacity is limited to 1,000 entries.
