2012 Press Releases
Newest Morton Plant Mease Immediate Care Center Now Open In New Port Richey
06/05/2012

Facility Offers Evaluation, Treatment of Minor Illnesses and Injuries

CLEARWATER, Fla., (June 5, 2012) – To help increase access to walk-in urgent care in Pasco County, Morton Plant Mease has opened a new immediate care center offering pediatric and adult urgent medical care services for walk-in patients daily.

Located at 4821 U.S. Highway 19, the 3,000-square-foot facility provides patient examinations, procedures and treatments 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

The New Port Richey location will primarily serve West Pasco and north Pinellas counties. It joins two previously existing Morton Plant Mease walk-in urgent care facilities found in Largo, which serves mid-Pinellas County, and Trinity.

Among the medical conditions that may be treated without an appointment at the Morton Plant Mease Immediate Care Center are minor illnesses and injuries, flu and colds, sprains and strains, minor cuts, stings, burns and fractures. The center also offers school and sports physicals, on-site X-rays, some blood testing and EKGs and a board-certified physician is always on duty.

“This new immediate care center will enable people who live and work in New Port Richey, and its surrounding communities, to receive professional medical treatment more quickly. This convenient location makes it much easier for walk-in patients to be examined and treated by eliminating the need to travel far and take valuable time away from work, school or family,” said Dr. Stephen Jacobs, president of Morton Plant Mease Primary Care, which oversees the health system’s immediate care centers.

The new immediate care center accepts most types of insurance and features four examination rooms, one procedure room, a digital X-ray suite plus a television in every patient room.
