Shoulder Pain, Foot Care, Active Aging and Student Athlete Hydration 


CLEARWATER, Fla., (April 22, 2013)- Morton Plant Mease health experts invites the community to attend free health seminars that include health topics such as shoulder pain, bladder issues, sleep apnea link to the heart, active aging and the importance of hydration for the student athlete. The health seminars will be presented at various Morton Plant Mease facilities and community centers.


Shoulder Pain and Your Rotator Cuff


Tuesday, May 14, 5:30 p.m.


Mease Countryside Hospital, Meeting Rooms 4 & 5, 3231 McMullen Booth Road, Safety Harbor


Join orthopedic surgeon Brian Oliver, MD, to learn more about rotator cuff injuries of the shoulder; how common injuries are and how it can be caused by falling, lifting and repetitive arm movements during activities like sports, gardening, and working; and the latest treatment for rotator cuff injuries.


Proper Foot Care and Screening

Join family medicine physician Keith Spain, MD, to learn about the importance of knowing the heat index, especially living in Florida, and the signs and symptoms of heat related illnesses in student athletes. Dr. Spain will also discuss how to develop a strategy for hydration and nutrition for practices, games or competitions.
